«The need to swiftly replace a number of foreign products that have disappeared from the market has driven growth across the entire industrial sector of the Krasnodar Region. The work began with targeted support, modernisation, and, in some cases, the complete restoration of enterprises. As a result, more than a dozen import-substituting production facilities have been launched, several of them unique not only in Russia but also internationally. The Krasnodar Region has meanwhile recorded a 40% increase in the production of medical goods and a 26% rise in the production of medicines. We are also entering other promising niches, including the production of radio‑electronic equipment, unmanned aerial systems, and innovative machining centres. At present, there are 27 additional import-substitution projects in the active phase, nine of which are scheduled to be launched in 2026. The enterprises have already completed commissioning or have launched pilot production,» said Veniamin Kondratyev.
Among the import-substitution production facilities currently being prepared for launch is the production of superabsorbent polymers by the Gidrotekhnologia in the Seversky District. This product has not yet been produced anywhere else in Russia. Superabsorbent polymers play a vital role in manufacturing modern hygiene products for children and adults. Additionally, they are used in the agricultural sector to facilitate water retention in soil.
Krasnodar Plant of Industrial Minerals, also located in the Seversky District of Krasnodar, will soon launch mass production of organobentonite. This facility is the only one of its kind across Russia and the entire CIS. Organobentonite enhances product durability across diverse industries, including oilfield services, the paint and varnish industry, and winemaking.
In 2026, the battery factory located in the Krymsky District is scheduled to begin operations. This will also be the first facility of its kind in Russia; until now, all batteries have been imported. Once it reaches full capacity, the plant will produce 264 million batteries per year, covering 40% of the domestic market.
The Krasnodar Region is collaborating with other regions of Russia to develop industrial clusters and support the marketing of finished products and the development of supply chains.
