Industry agreed on the participation of Chinese partners in financing the
construction of two pulp mills in Russia worth more than $ 3 billion, as well

This week, during the official visit of the Russian delegation to China, led by
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Minister Viktor Evtukhov, we held talks
on the development of investment cooperation between the two countries in terms
of forest products and the joint use of forest resources in Russia.
- At present, China consumes about 25 million tons of market pulp per year, and
its consumption is growing annually by 5-10%, - said Victor Evtukhov.
According to the Industry and Trade Ministry, the Chinese investors are ready
to finance the construction of two pulp mills in Siberia totaling $ 1 billion.
It is about building a factory in the city of Amursk (Khabarovsk region) with a
capacity of up to 750 ths. Tons of softwood pulp per year, as well as about the
project pulp mill in the Yenisei district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory capacity
of 900 ths. Tons. The total cost of the first project is valued at more than $
1 billion , the second -. about $ 2 billion construction works is scheduled for
completion in 2019.
The Russian delegation held talks on the joint construction of a plant in
Amursk with China's largest state holding Chentong, which also includes China

The press service of Vnesheconombank "News" reported that the construction
of pulp production in Amursk is a promising strategic project of development of
the Far East timber industry cluster.
- Work on the cluster conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry
and Minvostokrazvitiya Russian Vnesheconombank under the supervision and with
the participation of potential residents of the cluster - "RFP-Group"
and "Asia Forest". With the company Chenptong VEB were talks about
the prospects of China's participation in the construction of pulp production
in Amursk. They agreed to create a joint with Chentong, China Paper, RFP and
Vnesheconombank working group for more detailed study of the project. The next
joint meeting is scheduled for January 2017, - said the representative of the

Another plant - in the Yenisei district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory - realized
LLC "Siberian Forest", together with the Chinese engineering company
CAMCE, as well as the China Development Bank, which the company "Siberian
forest" memorandum.
Industry and Trade Ministry spokesman said that under the Amursk project is
expected that investments of investors from China amount to about $ 600
million, and will be attracted another $ 400 million to build a plant in the
Krasnoyarsk Territory.
- The rest of the funds for these projects will provide Russian companies. And

enterprise development, export development and technology development.

and business community to develop a draft Strategy for the Development of
forest complex until 2030. The strategy will include the development direction
of all major sub-sectors of the timber industry, including the pulp and paper
