In Russia, they are considering the possibility of legalizing operations in 2018 with bitcoins and other crypto currency in the fight against illegal money transfers.

This was announced in April by Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev.

"The state should know every participant in the financial operation," he said. "If this is a transaction, then the persons taking part in it directly need to understand who they are buying from and to whom they are selling, as is the case with banking transactions."

In early February, the Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Olga Skorobogatova, noted that the Bank of Russia and the Ministry of Finance will come out in the middle of the year with a proposal to regulate the crypto currency in Russia. She also added that now operations with crypto-currencies in the country are minimal, TASS reported citing Bloomberg.

As the Internet portal "Kuban 24" wrote, in June 2015 the Central Bank planned to discuss with representatives of financial markets the use of bitcoins and crypto-currencies in Russia. The Ministry of Finance in March 2016 developed a bill prohibiting the issuance and turnover of crypto-currency in the Russian Federation.
