According to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, these countries duty-free import raw sugar, process it, and then sell cheap sugar, including in Russia.
"On the one hand, we have overproduction of sugar, surplus of 700 thousand tons, which we must take out. On the other hand, the unfair policies of partners, Belarus and Kazakhstan, which shed sugar on our market from third countries, "Tkachev said.
According to him, this puts pressure on the market - from the beginning of August to September, the price has fallen almost twice: sugar has fallen in price from 44 to 26 rubles per 1 kg. In connection with this, the production of Russian sugar has become uncompetitive.
According to Tkachev, the Ministry of Agriculture should take a number of effective measures to streamline the market of the Eurasian Economic Union.
