The statement of the head of state was made during a solemn reception in the Kremlin on the occasion of the forthcoming celebration of the Day of the miner in Russia.
Putin stressed the need for special respect for hard labor, recalling that it was the coal reserves that once determined the place of Russia as one of the world leaders in the mining industry.
The head of state also said that the reserves of the named mineral in Russia will last for more than 500 years.
This year the state will support the development of the industry with investments worth more than 90 billion rubles, the Russian President noted.
