took part in the forum active citizens "Community", the Kremlin press

"Community" - a two-day forum, organized by the Public Chamber of
Russia and dedicated to the Day of National Unity. The event was attended by
more than 3,500 people, including representatives of socially-oriented NGOs and
civil society activists from all over Russia. They discussed the problems of
the nonprofit sector in various fields.
Russian President has called one of the priorities of the state support of
civil society and called upon the State Duma of a new convocation promptly to
adopt the amendments to the legislation, to facilitate the activities of
socially oriented NGOs. "Creating conditions for the development of civil
society, non-profit sector has been and remains one of our absolute priorities.
Of particular importance are, of course, measures to support socially oriented
NGOs, including those that help people with disabilities, families with
children with disabilities, "- said Putin, speaking at the" Community
"forum active citizens in Moscow.
He expressed the hope that the State Duma "promptly consider the necessary
amendments to the Budget Code, and practical mechanism for obtaining the
special legal status of socially oriented NGOs will be implemented from January
1, 2017".
Putin recalled that at the previous forum active citizens, it was suggested to
grant preferences to socially-oriented NGOs that have proved their
effectiveness. "The necessary decisions were taken. Amendments to the
legislation establishing the NGO special legal regime - implementing socially
useful services identified 20 priorities in this sphere ", - reminded the
president of Russia, adding that the government has approved a list of such
services and the criteria for assessing their quality.
As a result, according to the head of state for such NGOs became available the
financial resources allocated by the state for social purposes, and for at
least two years. "This will, I hope, provide stability and a higher level
of work of NGOs", - Putin said.
