Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dzhambulat Hatuov said that Russia does not forecast a sharp rise in prices for vegetables.

According to him, the weather still affects the yield.

"For vegetative processes, heat is needed. Natural anomalies as a whole cause damage to the finished crop, but this will not be reflected on consumers, "the deputy minister said.

Hatuov said that the crop failure will be covered by export of vegetables, which are supplied mainly from Turkey.

He denied the information on the growth of prices for vegetable products. The deputy minister said that now, on the contrary, there is a decrease in the cost of seasonal vegetables, for example, potatoes, onions, cucumbers. According to the latest data of Rosstat, the price of cucumbers decreased by 6.1%, potatoes by 5.2%, tomatoes by 2.8%, onions by 1.3%. He added that the Ministry of Agriculture does not forecast a sharp increase in the value of vegetables in the future.
