The Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Maxim Topilin said on April 24 that the indexation of pensions to working pensioners could amount to 200 billion rubles.

According to him, there is no decision yet to return to indexation.

"It costs a certain amount of money. According to our estimates, about 170-200 billion rubles may be required for indexation. The money is very serious, so we will weigh, watch how to deal with it, "said the head of the department.

Topilin recalled that the question of returning to the indexation of pensions to working pensioners was assigned to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev during the government's report to the lower house of parliament. The Russian Ministry of Labor will now work out solutions to this issue together with economic departments, Interfax reports.

As the Internet portal "Kuban 24" wrote, the head of the Ministry of Labor Maxim Topilin said on September 14, 2016 that the payments of working pensioners will not be indexed in 2017 - 2019.
