In the Russian Federation proposed to toughen the punishment for tax evasion

Russia has offered to make amendments to the Criminal Code, providing for stricter penalties for tax evasion.
This initiative was made by the Legislative Assembly of the Vologda region. According to them, the budgets of different levels each year loses a large amount of non-payment of taxes and fees.
Changes can make art. 198 and Art. 199 of the Criminal Code, toughening penalties for tax evasion, for individuals and organizations. The amendments provide for an increase in the term of imprisonment from two to five years for heads of organizations and from three to five years - for individuals in the commission of a crime on a large scale.
Deputies proposed to change the category of crime to increase the statute of limitations of the case. Now tax evasion related to minor offenses: the offender can be held accountable for two years. Officials believe that this type of crime needs to be translated into the category of moderate to extend liability to five years.
According to the Federal Tax Service, from January to May was able to collect more than 1.3 trillion rubles of income tax, which is 28% more compared to the same period in 2014.
