Social and economic situation of the Municipal Formation

The Tikhoretsk district is located in the steppe zone of the Prikubanskaya Plain in the north-eastern part of the Krasnodar region. The area of ​​the district is 1,825.4 square km. The Municipal Formation Tikhoretsk District consists of 12 rural settlements (57 residential places) and 1 urban settlement. The town of Tikhoretsk is a center of the Municipal Formation. The town is located at the intersection of two railway lines and highways of federal importance, which form a major transport hub in Tikhoretsk, providing the main railway and road communications of the European part of Russia to the Caspian coast of the North Caucasus and Transcaucasia. Tikhoretsk is situated in 166 km from the regional center – the city of Krasnodar – and 169 km from the capital of the Southern Federal District – Rostov-on-Don.

The district is a steppe plain, rising above the sea level by an average of 80 meters on watersheds and by 40 meters in the river valleys. There are brick and pottery clay, expanded clay materials, loam and sand at shallow depth of soil almost throughout the district. Water of underground wells of the town of Tikhoretsk belongs to natural mineral drinking table waters.

The climate is moderate continental and arid; the average annual temperature is 9.8 °C. The average annual precipitation is about 530 mm.

The population is 119.6 thousand people. The population of the administrative center is 64.4 thousand people.

Industry, agriculture, construction, trade and transport are priority sectors of the economy.

In 2014:

  • - the volume of goods produced in the manufacturing sector amounted to 8.5 billion rubles (116%);
  • - the volume of production for the agricultural industry for the year amounted to more than 8 billion rubles, with increase of 8% by 2013;
  • - the consolidated budget revenues in the district amounted to 2,372 million rubles, and in comparison with the 2013 they increased by 9.6%, or amounted to 179 million rubles;
  • - the budget expenditures of the Tikhoretsk district are amounted to 2,423 million rubles (or 6.6%), that is by 151 million rubles higher than the level of 2013.

The industry of the district is presented by such a large enterprise as the Machine Engineering Plant Named After V.V. Vorovskoy, OJSC, which main activity is railway engineering.

The food industry is represented by the following companies: Tikhoretskiy Brewery, LLC; Tikhoretskiy Center of Grain Production, OJSC; Tikhoretskiy Bakery Plant; Railway Trade Company, OJSC; Kubankhleb CJSC; Tikhoretskiy Cheese Factory, CJSC; Tikhoretskiy Children’s Canned Meat Plant, CJSC, and Tikhoretskiy Meat Processing Plant, CJSC.

39 enterprises, 354 peasant farm enterprises and 16,800 private farms are involved in agriculture. Cereals and legumes, sunflower, sugar beet, vegetables and fruits are grown at the district.

 The construction sector is represented by such large enterprises as Agat Road company, LLC; Avtogreyd CJSC; Tikhoretskelevatorspetsstroy, CJSC; Tikhoretskstroy, CJSC.

During 2014, 91 thousand square meters of housing were put into operation in the district. At the year-end, the housing at the Tikhoretsk district amounted to 24.6 sq. m. per resident.

The volume of investments for the full range of large and medium-sized enterprises of the Tikhoretsk district in 2014 amounted to 4,093 million rubles that is by 2.8 times higher than in 2013.

A delegation of the Tikhoretsk district was concluded six agreements of intent to implement investment projects with a total investment of 4,704 million rubles at the International Investment Forum "Sochi-2014". Among them, 2 agreements were signed with such a large company as Development-Yug that 6 times exceeds the indicator in 2013 and confirms the status of the Tikhoretsk district as an investment attractive district.

The education system of the district consists of 24 general educational institutions, 33 preschool educational institutions, 7 institutions of additional education for children of various kinds, and 3 institutions of the education system.

The main activity in the health care sector aimed at improving the quality of medical care by improving the efficiency of health care organizations and their employees. Outpatient care is provided in 5 outpatient departments, women’s health clinic, 2 district hospitals, 8 medical clinics and 19 medical and obstetric stations. The bedspace of the district has 909 beds, including 696 day-and-night beds.

To create conditions for the promotion of mass sports and the development of youth sport is an important part of the social policy.

There are 283 different types of sports facilities and departmental affiliation, including a swimming pool, an indoor ice rink, 4 stadiums, 190 plane constructions, 40 sports halls, 13 multifunctional sports and play grounds at the Tikhoretsk district. One-time capacity of the sports facilities is 7,000 people.
